Our Payments Data and Analytics team is responsible for delivering high impact insights to help grow our payments business, driving our Payments data strategy, and creating innovative data-driven products for our clients and internal partners. We combine data science/AI/ML expertise, consultative problem solving, design thinking and a deep understanding of technology to drive value. As a Data Scientist in the Payments Data and Analytics team, you will collaborate with our global data science and product teams to deliver high-impact AI and analytics use cases and build data-driven products that help internal sales and product teams sell more effectively. Job responsibilities: Explore how money moves through our network and around the world, partnering closely with teams that sell, build, and deliver Payments products (including consumer-to-business payments, FX, trade finance, liquidity and more) to translate data into insights that shape the strategy and direction of JPMorgan Chase products. Collaborate with product managers to design and deliver internal, data-driven products and build robust data assets that power scalable analytical solutions. Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate agentic AI workflows to improve efficiency, decisioning, and execution. Apply a management-consulting approach to identify, size, and prioritize use cases - grounded in impact orientation, strong business understanding, program management discipline, and executive presence. Combine rigorous analytical thinking with hands-on technical skills to design solutions and push approaches toward best-in-class outcomes. Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and deliver insights that increase revenue and improve client outcomes. Communicate complex concepts with clarity and concision, tailoring messages appropriately for internal stakeholder and executive audiences. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 4+ years of experience delivering data science and analytics solutions, from problem framing through production deployment. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience). Strong hands-on experience with modern data/analytics platforms and tooling (e.g., Databricks, PySpark/Spark, SQL) and data visualization/BI tools (e.g., Tableau). Working knowledge of AI-powered solution development, including LLM fundamentals, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and MCP-style integrations. Experience building on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), including deploying and operating data workloads in cloud environments. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Strong stakeholder management skills with a track record of building trust-based partnerships across teams and functions. Demonstrated experience designing and building agentic AI solutions Experience in payments, financial services, fintech or other technology-enabled industries Background in management consulting is a plus
