Why Join Us?Founding Engineer role—help shape the technical and product direction from the ground up.High ownership—work directly with the founders and stakeholders to define and execute strategies.Sequoia-backed—opportunity to be part of an ambitious startup with a strong support network.Professional & Personal Growth—a rare chance to build a product with real impact while accelerating your career.What You’ll Do:Architect, build, and maintain scalable and performant backend systems.Design APIs and distributed systems that power Tailcall’s core offerings.Own end-to-end backend development—from system design to production deployment.Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our backend infrastructure.Work closely with the founding team to make critical product and architectural decisions.Drive best engineering practices and mentor junior engineers as the team scales.What We’re Looking For:5-10 years of experience in backend engineering, preferably at a high-growth product company.Strong proficiency in Nodejs, Golang, Rust, or Java (we’re open to polyglots!).Experience in designing and optimizing high-performance distributed systems.Deep knowledge of databases (SQL & NoSQL), caching strategies, and event-driven architectures.Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.).A builder mentality—someone who loves solving open-ended problems in a fast-moving environment.A strong product mindset—you care about user experience and business impact.Bonus Points For:Previous experience at a seed or early-stage startup.Exposure to AI/ML-driven backend architectures.Contributions to open-source projects.Sign in to Google to save your progress.
