As a core technical contributor, you will deliver critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas and business functions in support of the firm’s objectives. Job Responsibilities Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, applying creative approaches to solve complex technical problems. Deliver end-to-end cloud-native, microservices-based backend applications using Python and modern engineering practices. Apply domain modeling techniques to build high-quality business products with an emphasis on clarity, testability, and maintainability. Write secure, high-quality production code in Python; review, debug, and improve code written by others. Design and build scalable, resilient architectures that avoid single points of failure and support zero-downtime releases. Improve operational stability by identifying and automating remediation for recurring issues; ensure issues are investigated and resolved with durable fixes. Contribute to continuous modernization by evolving technologies, patterns, and engineering standards. Lead and contribute to communities of practice, promoting adoption of new and leading-edge technologies. Foster an inclusive team culture that values diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect. Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness. Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of hands-on experience across system design, development, testing, and production support. Strong proficiency in Python building backend services and microservices using frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI. Ability to independently solve design and functionality challenges with minimal supervision. Strong RESTful API design and maintenance skills, including versioning, backward compatibility, schema contracts, and documentation. Experience designing scalable, resilient distributed systems using patterns such as Circuit Breaker, Bulkhead, Retry/Timeout, CQRS, Event-Driven Architecture, Saga/Process Orchestration, and Idempotency. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and web technologies (REST, WebSockets, JSON). Hands-on experience designing/building scalable data solutions using SQL and NoSQL databases. Experience with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation/Pulumi) and modern delivery practices including Agile (Scrum), SDLC, CI/CD, automation, application resiliency, and security. Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security. Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills soft skills including presentation, negotiation, mentoring, and stakeholder management.
