Principal Product Manager

Lead the cloud platform and automation powering scalable, secure, hands-on technology labs.

We are seeking a Product Manager t o own the architecture, engineering, automation, and operational excellence of our hands-on labs program. This role builds the cloud environments and developer platforms that enable learners, customers, partners, and field teams to use complex technologies reliably at scale. You will lead the technical strategy for lab provisioning, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, source control, security, testing, release management, and cost efficiency. You will work across product, engineering, enablement, marketing, and field organizations to translate business and learning objectives into scalable technical solutions. What You’ll Do Own the technical strategy, architecture, and operational excellence of a high-impact hands-on labs platform. Build and scale secure, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud lab environments using OCI, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and automation. Establish engineering standards and delivery practices across source control, CI/CD, testing, security, observability, and release management. Lead the development and operation of tools, services, APIs, and user-facing lab components. Diagnose and resolve complex platform issues; lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and lasting improvements. Partner across product, engineering, enablement, marketing, and field teams to translate learning and business needs into scalable solutions. Influence technical direction across teams and mentor lab developers through hands-on guidance and standards. Key Responsibilities Product Analysis – Market Analysis: –Prioritizes products/features based on evaluations of business value, feasibility, and user needs (internal and/or external). –Ensures alignment between the customer, the market, and Oracle's goals and strategy. –Analyzes market trends and the competitive landscape to maintain a competitive position. –Engages customers, non-customers, partners, and industry analysts to gather market information and identify opportunities for products. Product Analysis – Solution Identification: –Leads efforts to identify customers' unmet or unknown needs, market opportunities, and regulatory requirements. –Guides internal teams to define problem statements for complex products and develops hypotheses for new products. –Independently owns and drives the solutioning process by collaborating with stakeholders. –Drives evaluation and validation of solutions to inform decisions on enhancing products/features. –Creates, maintains, and reviews solution artifacts (e.g., regulatory, functional, and non-functional requirements). Product Ownership – Product Development and Roadmapping: –Takes ownership of planning, execution, and release processes. –Owns roadmaps for multiple products/features, ensuring alignment with business objectives. –Develops feature requirements, resources, and best practices for stakeholders. –Drives delivery excellence and resolves risks and issues. –Tracks and analyzes metrics (e.g., service requests, bugs, feedback) to make data-driven product decisions. –Writes and reviews user stories and acceptance criteria. –Determines feature and experience priorities to support OKRs (Objectives and Key Results). Product Ownership – Product Leadership and Influence: –Acts as an innovation leader, shaping product strategy and direction. –Guides product development to improve customer experience and achieve business goals. –Drives new feature development using agile and continuous-delivery methodologies. Alignment and Collaboration: –Shares insights with partners and ensures cross-team alignment. –Anticipates and manages stakeholder pushback using expertise and data. –Partners with engineering and senior teams to identify solutions linked to OKRs and KPIs. –Oversees business impact across organizations, managing success criteria and performance metrics. –Establishes parameters for user testing and product iteration. Customer-Centricity: –Serves as the primary customer advocate throughout the product lifecycle. –Actively engages with customers to gather feedback and insights. –Works with customers to align Oracle products to business goals. –Captures and analyzes customer requirements for new product capabilities and feature designs. –Ensures products are tailored to consumer needs during implementations. –Reviews and prioritizes customer issues for satisfaction and quality, coordinating resolutions. Product Release – Go-to-Market: –Develops release overviews, presentations, and demos for field teams. –Recruits and supports early adopters to validate solutions. –Contributes to the development of user documentation. –Defines and tracks product adoption metrics, identifying user behavior trends. –Presents demos to customers, partners, analysts, and field teams to promote value. 344323 - Required Qualifications • Extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud infrastructure, with strong Oracle Cloud Infrastructure expertise. • Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or additional public cloud platforms. • Deep Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience, including reusable modules, state management, environment promotion, and deployment automation. • Strong experience with Git, GitHub and/or GitLab, code review workflows, branching strategies, and release management. • Proficiency in Python and practical experience with JavaScript. • Strong CI/CD pipeline engineering experience for infrastructure and application delivery. • Strong knowledge of cloud networking, including virtual networks, routing, DNS, load balancing, and connectivity troubleshooting. • Experience designing and operating identity and access management controls using least-privilege principles. • Proficiency with Linux administration and shell scripting. • Experience integrating APIs, cloud SDKs, and automation tooling. • Experience creating and maintaining automated tests and validation frameworks. • Practical experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and incident troubleshooting. • Strong understanding of cloud security practices and cloud cost optimization. • Experience with containers and Kubernetes. • Proven ability to make sound architecture and platform decisions with limited oversight. • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business and learning requirements into engineering solutions. 344323 - Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting hands-on labs, developer education, technical enablement, training platforms, or event-based technical environments. • Experience operating multi-cloud environments. • Experience designing developer platforms or internal engineering tools. • Experience leading technical programs across multiple teams and stakeholder groups. • Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical communities of practice. What Success Looks Like: • Labs can be deployed, validated, updated, and released consistently through automated pipelines. • Lab environments are reliable during high-visibility events and easy for users to access and complete. • Infrastructure, source control, security, and release practices are well-defined and adopted by contributors. • Operational risks are identified early, incidents are resolved effectively, and recurring failures are eliminated through durable improvements. • Cloud costs remain visible, controlled, and aligned with usage and business priorities.
