About Yordas Group

Yordas Group is an international provider of scientific and consultancy services, regulatory advice and training to industry in chemicals management, sustainability and risk assessment. We help companies understand and comply with the regulatory requirements affecting their products and supply chains. Our Hazard Communication team works with clients around the world to ensure chemical products are classified, documented and communicated safely and compliantly across different markets.

The opportunity

We are looking for scientifically minded people to join our growing Hazard Communication team in either the UK or Turkey.

We are deliberately keeping the experience level for this role broad.

You might be an early-career regulatory professional who already has some experience of Safety Data Sheets, chemical classification, GHS/CLP, labelling or chemical regulatory affairs and is looking for the next step in your career. Alternatively, you may have a strong scientific background and transferable experience with the aptitude to develop into a Hazard Communication specialist.

You do not need to arrive knowing everything. We have an established technical training and development programme and can tailor your development according to your existing knowledge and experience.

For candidates who already have relevant Hazard Communication experience, the role can offer greater responsibility and independence from the outset.

The important things for us are strong scientific reasoning, attention to detail, curiosity, good judgement and the ability to learn and apply complex regulatory requirements.

What you'll be doing

Depending on your existing experience and development needs, your work will include:

Safety Data Sheet and label authoring for chemical products supplied into different global markets.

Hazard classification of substances and mixtures, applying GHS-based regulatory requirements including EU/GB CLP and requirements in other international jurisdictions.

Reviewing technical and compositional data and making informed classification and Hazard Communication decisions.

Supporting Poison Centre Notification (PCN) and related regulatory activities.

Reviewing SDS and other Hazard Communication documentation for regulatory compliance and quality.

Researching regulatory requirements and helping the team respond to technical and client questions.

Working with colleagues on international Hazard Communication projects and managed services.

Communicating with clients and other Yordas teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality work.

Contributing to improvements in our technical processes, guidance, systems and tools.

As your knowledge and experience develop, there will be opportunities to take greater ownership of client relationships and projects, provide regulatory consultancy, undertake quality review, support and mentor colleagues, contribute to training and help develop new services.

What we're looking for

We are interested in candidates at different stages of their early regulatory careers, so we don't expect everyone to tick every box.

You will ideally have:

A Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in a scientific discipline, particularly Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Biology, Biomedicine, Natural Sciences or a related subject; or equivalent relevant industry experience.

An analytical mindset and the ability to interpret scientific and technical information.

Excellent attention to detail and an appreciation of the importance of accuracy and consistency.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to manage changing priorities and organise your own workload.

Confidence working both independently and collaboratively within an international team.

Curiosity and a willingness to develop your technical knowledge.

Relevant experience would be an advantage and we would particularly like to hear from you if you have some experience in one or more of the following:

Safety Data Sheet authoring or review

GHS or CLP classification

Chemical or product labelling

Chemical regulatory affairs or product stewardship

REACH or CLP

Poison Centre Notifications / UFI

Dangerous Goods

Chemical compliance within industry

Regulatory or scientific consultancy

SDS authoring or regulatory software

What we can offer

Hazard Communication is a specialist field, and we don't expect people to arrive knowing every regulation or every market.

You'll receive structured training and support from experienced Hazard Communication professionals while working on real client projects. As you develop, you'll have opportunities to build expertise across global GHS requirements and pursue a career path that suits your strengths.

That could include becoming a technical specialist, moving further into consultancy and client management, managing projects, undertaking quality review, delivering training, developing new services or progressing into team leadership.

Yordas also offers a range of benefits depending on location, including professional development opportunities, generous holidays, flexible working and pension/medical benefits where applicable.

Application

If this sounds interesting but you're unsure whether your experience is quite at the right level, we'd still encourage you to apply. We're more interested in finding someone with the right scientific aptitude, regulatory mindset and potential than matching a rigid number of years' experience.

Please send your CV and covering letter to , outlining your relevant experience and why you're interested in developing your career in Hazard Communication.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a hazard classification exercise. All information required to complete the exercise will be provided.

Yordas Group is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates from all backgrounds.
