This role prefers you have exceptional quick-learning skills.Get to Know the RoleYou will be responsible for owning test strategy planning, priorisation, execution, maintenance, and promoting automation and best practice in testing to ensure high product quality in FundsCore platforms.You will be participating in our full software development life cycle, including contributions to our product or system design.

And as a Software Engineer in Test (SET), you are expected to contribute to fixing bugs and driving our Operational Excellence, such as performing On-Call duties.You will report to a Senior Engineering Manager and work onsite at Grab HCMC, Vietnam office.The Critical Tasks You Will PerformDetermine the test coverage and the types of tests required through an understanding of the user stories, the important aspects of a feature, its system design and its code, meeting system and product quality standardsIdentify and classify critical test cases and implement them to safeguard our systems and productsRemove reliance on manual test cases through migration to more automated testing methods (e.g.

UAT) or through automating the existing tests and retiring obsolete/non-useful tests cases for engineering excellenceTake necessary measures to ensure a team's test repertoire meets the balance mandated by the Testing PyramidKnow what current best practice requires, and ensure the team is conforming to itAdvise the team for making decisions as to when to invest in refactoring existing test cases to conform to newer practices and technologiesTake the responsibility to design and review medium and large tests at an early (pre-development) stageBuild, extend, and customise the team's testing frameworks Read more Skills you need WWhat Essential Skills You Will NeedBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent working experienceProficiency in English (both spoken and written)Problem-solving skills with the ability to address the problem at the root level and identity edge cases5+ years of relevant software development experience with proficiency in test automations and solid coding skills in one or more major programming languages such as Golang or PythonProficiency in writing, debugging, and maintaining code in Golang (or other major programming languages) or Python for automation and toolingProficiency in building test suites, using mocks, improving test coverage and reliabilityProficiency in understanding and extending automation pipelines, integrate test stepsUnderstand system architecture basics (APIs, DBs, services) and how to test across layersExperience contributing to quality through design reviews, MRs discussions, and observability practicesOperational and compliance excellence – ability to implement solutions that meet requirements for Observability, SLAs, Security, Data Governance, and Regulatory complianceExperience writing design documents and maintain up-to-date documentation (e.g., runbooks)Passion for learning new technologies and business domainsExperience applying Generative AI to enhance work productivity Read more What we offer About Grab and Our WorkplaceGrab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp.
