View all jobs Software Engineer (Infrastructure + Full Stack) Gardena Software In office Full-time About Neuron Industries America deserves abundance. But we can't manufacture an abundant future while the reactors, fabs, and production lines that make everything we use still run on architecture locked in the '90s, and the engineers who know how to program it are retiring. Neuron Industries is the industrial technology company for the AI era.

We're rebuilding industrial automation from the hardware up, starting with the Cortex AIC, an AI-native controller that replaces the PLC. Engineers describe what a machine should do in plain English, and Cortex runs it without sacrificing a minute of uptime. Controls projects that took weeks now take hours. Come help us build the golden age of American manufacturing. The role You'll build the software spine of the company: the development environment our customers live in, the data path from controller to cloud, and the infrastructure that keeps a growing fleet of industrial devices shipping, updating, and observable.

What you'll build - Build the development environment our customers live in: editor, simulation, deployment flows, and the AI-assisted workflows that turn weeks of controls work into hours. - Ship the data path, from the free local data viewer to the paid cloud and on-prem data lake: ingestion, storage, query, and visualization of high-rate industrial time series. - Design APIs that survive contact with real customers: versioned, documented, and stable while the product moves fast. - Span the full stack: a web server that runs on the controller itself, desktop tooling, and cloud services.

Pick boring, reliable technology at each layer. - Own the infrastructure: CI/CD with hardware-in-the-loop stages, the OTA update pipeline, release engineering, observability, and fleet management for controllers in the field. - Take features from vague ask to shipped and monitored, and own them in production. - Work AI-first day to day: agents in your editor, in CI, in code review. Help set the pattern for how an AI-native engineering team ships.

What you've already proven - Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, concurrency, networking, and what the machine actually does with your code. You can chase a symptom down the stack. - You've shipped and operated production software that real users depended on. You can tell us what broke and what you changed after. - Fluent in TypeScript/React (or close) and at least one systems language (Rust, Go, C++, or serious Python).

The stack runs from device to cloud, and so will you. - You test and instrument by default. "Works on my machine" isn't done. - Product taste. You notice when a workflow has one screen too many, and you fix it without waiting for a ticket. - Small team, no PM layer. You talk to customers and own outcomes. - You develop with AI daily, know where it compounds you, and know where it starts writing junk. - Able to work on-site at our Gardena, CA office 5 days a week. - Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.

What gets you here faster - Time-series data systems, industrial protocols, or other high-rate telemetry. - You've built developer tools, IDEs, language tooling, or simulation environments. - Enough embedded Linux to debug your code where it runs. - LLM-powered features shipped to production. Annual base salary: $150,000–$220,000 USD. Compensation The base pay range for this role is $150,000 – $220,000 per year.

What you get - Real ownership. Significant stock options. You're building the company, so you should own a real piece of it. - Health, fully covered. 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision, with premium PPO and HMO options. - Time to recharge. Paid vacation, sick leave, and company holidays. - Fuel for builders. Catered lunch and dinner, every day. How we hire Four steps. No hoops, no mystery.

1. Recruiter screen. A conversation about you, the role, and whether we're a fit for each other. 2. Technical screen. Talk shop with the team: how you think and what you've built. 3. Onsite. Meet the team, see the hardware, and get a feel for how we work. 4. Offer. We move fast. When we're in, you'll know. Need an accommodation at any step? Tell us and we'll make it work. Apply anyway If this role excites you but your experience doesn't line up with every bullet above, apply anyway.

The bullets describe the work, not the prerequisite for success. Neuron Industries is an equal opportunity employer. We hire on ability, hunger, and what you can build.
