About the Team
The Developer Productivity (DevX) team builds and maintains the tools, platforms, and infrastructure that help Helpshift engineers reliably build, test, deploy, and release products.
We work across CI/CD, build and release automation, developer tooling, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, observability, security, and engineering workflows. Our goal is to reduce engineering friction, improve developer productivity, and make software delivery faster, safer, and more reliable .
We are looking for an engineer who enjoys automation, troubleshooting, learning new technologies, and building tools that make engineering teams more productive.
What You'll Work On
CI/CD & Release Engineering
Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for build, test, deployment, and release workflows
Automate repetitive build and release activities
Troubleshoot pipeline failures and improve pipeline reliability
Work with version control and release workflows
Tools / Technologies:
Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Git, Helm, Argo CD, or equivalent.
Developer Productivity & Automation
Develop scripts and tools that simplify engineering workflows
Automate repetitive operational and development tasks
Identify small but impactful areas of friction in developer workflows
Build and maintain CLI-based utilities and internal tooling
Languages / Technologies:
Python, Shell/Bash, Java, Clojure, Go, or equivalent.
Cloud & Infrastructure
Work with cloud infrastructure supporting CI/CD and development environments
Contribute to infrastructure provisioning and configuration automation
Understand basic cloud networking, compute, storage, and IAM concepts
Tools / Technologies:
AWS, GCP, Azure, AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or equivalent.
Containers & Kubernetes
Build and work with containerised applications and workloads
Support Kubernetes-based development and deployment environments
Troubleshoot common container and Kubernetes issues
Tools / Technologies:
Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Helm, Kustomize, ECR, or equivalent.
Observability
Implement and maintain basic monitoring and logging for DevX systems
Use metrics, logs, and traces to troubleshoot issues
Contribute to dashboards and alerts for engineering infrastructure
Tools / Technologies:
Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Datadog, Loki, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent.
Security
Follow secure development and CI/CD practices
Contribute to security checks within engineering workflows
Understand basic concepts around IAM, secrets, dependencies, and container security
Tools / Technologies:
Trivy, Snyk, Prisma Cloud, Checkov, cfn-guard, OPA/Conftest, or equivalent.
Build, Test & Developer Environments
Support development and test environments used by engineering teams
Help improve build and test workflows
Troubleshoot issues related to developer environments and tooling
Contribute to sandbox and environment automation
Troubleshooting & Reliability
Diagnose issues across CI/CD, infrastructure, containers, and development environments
Use logs, metrics, and system information to perform root-cause analysis
Escalate and collaborate effectively on complex issues
Participate in operational support and incident resolution
