Product Manager – Workplace Platforms - Assistant Vice President

Calgary, Alberta

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management provides a range of wealth management products and services for affluent individuals, businesses and institutions. These services include brokerage and investment advisory, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, cash management, annuities and insurance, retirement and trust.

Position Summary

Workplace Platforms is a division within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Platforms, comprised of the digital platforms supporting the Morgan Stanley at Work businesses—including Equity Compensation, Retirement Plan Solutions, and Deferred Compensation. The Workplace Platforms team drives and defines the digital and online experience for wealth management and corporate clients. The overall mission of the division is to create a best-in-class experience for both corporate clients and their employees (“participants”) as we engage them throughout their financial life journey, ultimately leading to a deepening of their Morgan Stanley Wealth Management relationship.

Our approach will be highly scalable, leveraging an omni-channel strategy with an emphasis on messaging, onboarding, cross-selling, activation and servicing. Our goal will be to drive growth across all client segments, with new digital capabilities.

Within Workplace Platforms, the Private Markets product area specifically focuses on building a scalable ecosystem around equity compensation for private clients. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to the strategy to deliver a differentiated experience for users of our workplace platforms.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to plan and deliver key initiatives that support the firm's long-term strategy. This includes helping to bring the full value of the firm to clients and connecting workplace offerings with a clear path to advice. You will also assist with defining an ideal user experience across various digital platforms in support of this mission.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the execution of assigned Private Markets platform roadmap items and drive work from discovery and prioritization through delivery, launch, and post-implementation review.
  • Translate business objectives, user needs, and control requirements into clear product requirements, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and business rules.
  • Partner closely with Technology throughout solution design, estimation, sequencing, development, testing, release planning, and production implementation.
  • Collaborate with User Experience Design & Research to define user journeys, validate concepts, incorporate research insights, and deliver intuitive and consistent experiences.
  • Engage Legal, Compliance, Risk, Information Security, Privacy, and other control partners early and throughout the delivery lifecycle; document decisions and ensure required controls are incorporated into the solution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, identify dependencies and risks, escalate issues when needed, and maintain clear ownership of actions and decisions.
  • Develop and maintain delivery plans, status reporting, executive updates, decision materials, and roadmap communications for leaders and partner teams.
  • Lead or support user acceptance testing, release readiness, implementation planning, stakeholder communications, and post-launch monitoring.
  • Define success measures and partner with analytics and reporting teams to monitor adoption, client outcomes, operational performance, and product health.
  • Use data, client feedback, operational insights, and market context to recommend product enhancements and inform roadmap priorities.
  • Contribute to a strong product management practice through reusable standards, transparent documentation, and continuous improvement of delivery processes.
  • Build trusted relationships across Morgan Stanley at Work and represent the Private Markets Platforms team in cross-functional forums.

Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, digital platform delivery, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex technology initiatives through Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid development lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and AI-enabled tools used to inform product decisions or improve user experiences is a plus.
  • Thrives in complexity — bringing clarity to ambiguous problems, making confident trade-offs, and communicating simply without losing nuance.
  • Strong requirements and technical writing skills, including experience developing epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and business rules.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with Technology, UX, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and control partners in a regulated environment.
  • Strong execution discipline with the ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing status updates and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize information from multiple stakeholder groups and make clear recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with product delivery and collaboration tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of private markets, equity administration, cap table management, liquidity programs, or workplace financial solutions is preferred
