What you will do
- Design and build hardware-in-the-loop test setups for actuators, sensors, motor controllers, and integrated robotic mechanisms.
- Create automated test procedures for functional, performance, reliability, and regression testing.
- Develop fixtures, harnesses, instrumentation layouts, and data-acquisition workflows.
- Analyze test data, isolate failures, and communicate clear findings to mechanical, EE, firmware, and controls teams.
- Improve test coverage and repeatability through scripting, calibration, documentation, and safety interlocks.
What they are looking for
- Pursuing a BS or MS in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience integrating mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems.
- Experience writing Python, Rust, C/C++, or similar code for test automation or data collection.
- Comfort using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and DAQ systems.
- Strong experimental judgment, documentation habits, and root-cause problem solving.
Nice to have
- Experience with HIL/SIL test systems, automated regression testing, or CI for hardware.
- Experience with motor control, CAN/CAN-FD, EtherCAT, ROS/ROS2, or real-time systems.
- Experience designing test fixtures, harnesses, or safety systems.
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualization in Python.
