As a fabless semiconductor company operating in the silicon photonics space, iPronics is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Failure Analysis Engineer to join our growing team. This role is critical to ensuring that our Photonic Integrated Modules meet the stringent qualification requirements of Tier-1 datacenter customers while continuously improving product performance, yield, and reliability. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, reliability, and quality teams to drive root cause investigations and implement improvements that directly impact product success. * * * What You’ll Do As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and executing in-depth failure investigations and contributing to product and process improvements. Your responsibilities will include: - Performing detailed root cause analysis of device failures and collaborating cross-functionally to resolve reliability issues, refine product designs, and improve process robustness and yield. - Leading failure investigations internally and with external suppliers, identifying corrective and preventive actions. - Summarizing and clearly communicating findings to stakeholders across iPronics, suppliers, and customers. - Planning, managing, and setting up new failure analysis capabilities. - Coordinating complex failure analysis projects requiring specialized or novel techniques and equipment. - Influencing design, process, and test modifications to meet yield and reliability targets. Your work will directly support the formal qualification of our leading-edge photonic products in the global datacenter market. * * * What We’re Looking For Education & Experience - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field. - Minimum 3 years of experience in failure analysis engineering within the semiconductor and/or photonics industry. Technical Expertise - Hands-on experience with failure analysis tools and techniques such as SEM, EDX, FIB, EMMI, OBIRCH, etc. - Strong knowledge of device physics and failure mechanisms in SerDes, digital, and mixed-signal ICs. - Solid understanding of packaging-related failure mechanisms (solder joints, warpage, metal migration, etc.). - Experience with advanced packaging technologies such as flip-chip, wafer-level packaging, or 3D integration. - Familiarity with optical component test methodologies is a plus. - Experience working in a cleanroom environment is an advantage.
