In this role, you will work on the design and development of optical amplification modules, part of our optical circuit switching solutions. You will collaborate closely with our packaging and photonic integration teams to ensure our optical modules meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements for large-scale deployment in AI and datacenter applications. You will work at the intersection of subsystem design, photonic chip packaging and advanced manufacturing to deliver high-performance and high-yield products. Responsibilities: - Define and optimize optical modules/sub-systems - Perform simulations and tolerance analysis to guide product design and integration decisions - Investigate optical performance issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions - Test and validate optical devices, assemblies and modules, analyze test data, and communicate results effectively - Apply Design for manufacturability (DfM) principles to translate theoretical designs into scalable products considering yield, cost, and material/processing constraints. - Supplier interaction for specifications definition - Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with packaging and photonic engineers to ensure seamless integration into our products. - Documentation and reporting: Maintain design records, simulation results, and process documentation to support future development and knowledge transfer. Qualifications: - PhD in photonics / electrical engineering / physics / material science with more than 3 years of industrial experience in working with optical systems and/or modules.
