About the role

from listing

At Network Insurance House (NIH), we take pride in being one of Australia’s most trusted and successful broking brands. Guided by our core values, we are dedicated to achieving exceptional outcomes for both our clients and our people.

You’ll be joining a team known for its strong culture, supportive environment, and great reputation in the industry. We offer genuine career growth, learning opportunities, and a workplace that values collaboration and celebrates success.

We’re currently looking for a Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team in Melbourne. As we continue to enhance how we use data across the business, you’ll play a key part in turning it into insight that drives strategy and performance.

About the Role

This is an opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst to play a key role in strengthening how NIH brings together and uses its data, with a strong focus on connecting multiple data sets and turning them into clear, commercially relevant insight.

Reporting to the Head of Business Intelligence, you will:

Bring together data from multiple internal and external systems, including CRM, broking platforms, finance systems, underwriters and partners

Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks and opportunities

Provide insights and conclusions that support executive and management decision making

Identify segments of the market to target based on data analysis

Provide commercial analysis across revenue, margins, retention, new business growth, scheme performance and productivity

Develop and maintain a consistent KPI framework, including GWP, client retention, new business conversion and portfolio growth

Design and maintain automated reporting, interactive dashboards and executive reporting packs

Ensure data integrity, governance and security standards are maintained, and proactively investigate data anomalies

Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning, as well as pricing, scheme and portfolio analysis

This role offers the scope to make a real impact on how NIH uses data across broking, distribution, operations and finance, with the autonomy to shape how it’s done.

About You

You’re an experienced analyst who is just as comfortable working through the detail of complex data as you are presenting findings to non-technical audiences.

You will bring:

A Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Information Systems or a related field

At least 5 years’ experience in a Data Analyst role

Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases

Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar

Experience with ETL processes and data transformation, and strong Excel capability

An understanding of data governance and data security principles

Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent attention to detail and strong data validation capability

Experience in financial services or insurance (highly desirable)

Experience building and managing a data lake or data warehouse environment (highly regarded)

You’re commercially minded and outcome focused, with a continuous improvement mindset and the drive to work autonomously.

Perks & Benefits

At Network Insurance House, we recognise that our people are at the heart of our success. We offer a range of benefits designed to support you both professionally and personally, including:

Bonus opportunities across all roles

12 weeks paid parental leave for both primary and secondary carers

Free travel insurance

Salary packaging and novated leasing options

Alongside these benefits, you’ll be joining a collaborative national brokerage that genuinely values its people and culture. We are passionate about creating an environment where employees feel supported, empowered and encouraged to grow their careers, with ongoing development and progression opportunities across the business, plus a range of additional employee benefits.
